If you are using Visual Studio, then there is no necessity of other editor visual studio integrated editor is powerful enough to serve the purpose.If you are using command line gcc then gvim or editplus is a good editor for programmer.

The DevC++ and Code::Blocks already comes with editors but I feel gvim is better what comes with these IDEs.GVIM:
