Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank), an amateur who aspires to prove herself by becoming a successful boxer, is reluctantly taken on by Frankie Dunn (Clint Eastwood), a brilliant but down-and-out boxing trainer who has been cast aside by his colleagues and relatives, including his estranged daughter, Katy. Dunn helps Maggie realize her goal while developing a stronger-than-blood bond with her. Initially, Dunn's attitude towards Maggie is indifferent, because she is female and already 31 years old. Maggie, however, perseveres in her attempts to win Dunn's favor by training each day in his gym, even when others discourage her. Frank's friend and employee, ex-boxer Eddie "Scrap Iron" Dupris (Morgan Freeman) narrates the story in non-dialogue scenes.
Dunn writes to his estranged daughter every week but receives no replies. Dunn's priest cannot fathom why Katy would not respond and instead doubts Dunn's claims that he writes to her. Dunn himself, lacking a close relationship with his daughter, establishes a strong one with Maggie, whose own family cares little for her well-being. When Maggie buys her mother a house, she is not grateful and castigates Maggie for putting the welfare scam she and Maggie's sister are running at risk. Dunn coaches Maggie and manages her professional career. With his expert help, she fights her way up to the women's welterweight boxing division, and eventually ranks high enough for a match in Las Vegas against the WBA women's welterweight champion, Billie the Blue Bear (played by real life boxer Lucia Rijker), who is known to get away with committing fouls.
During the match, an illegal attack by Billie causes Maggie to hit her head and neck on her corner stool, which the frantic Dunn is unable to move out of the way in time. As a result, Maggie is paralyzed from the neck down, and Billie apparently retains the championship with no police charge. Dunn, venting his rage at the injustice, initially blames Scrap for convincing him to train her, but in the end blames himself for having worked with her against his better judgment.
In a medical rehabilitation facility, Maggie hopes that her family including her brother, Mike (who is played by British Actor Chris Jób) will visit her, though Dunn repeatedly calls them with no success. Eventually, the family arrives—after first visiting a Universal Studios theme park—with an attorney in tow (In the end the family did move into the house Maggie bought them), to arrange the transfer of Maggie's assets to them. Dunn is appalled, but Maggie gets the last word when she lets her mother know that Maggie actually has the title to the house she gave to them and gives her mom a choice: leave and never contact her again, or have Maggie sell the house and get tossed into the streets without a cent. Her defeated family disappears and do not return. Eventually, she confides to Dunn that she has "seen it all" and asks to be relieved of her suffering. Dunn refuses to help her die, but does speak with his priest, who objects to the idea of euthanasia, sympathetically but firmly saying that it is murder and if Dunn does this he will be lost to everyone including himself. Maggie then attempts suicide by biting her tongue multiple times in an attempt to choke to death on her own blood. Though hospital staff prevent further suicide attempts, Dunn decides that Maggie's suffering should not continue, and he injects her with an overdose of adrenaline.
Just before administering the injection, Dunn finally tells Maggie the meaning of the nickname by which he has called her; the phrase, Mo Chuisle, which he says is Irish for "My darling, my blood", (although the actual meaning is "My pulse"). Afterwards, as Scrap explains, Dunn disappears. Scrap's narration is revealed to be a letter to Dunn's daughter, Katy, informing her of her father's true character.

Katie (Jenny McCarthy) tells Becca (Pamela Anderson) about a tape she saw which allegedly kills people seven days after watching it. Shortly afterwards, Becca finds Katie drowned, sitting in a chair.
In a farm outside Washington, D.C., Tom Logan (Charlie Sheen) is woken by a girl screaming. Tom goes outside to investigate and meets his brother George (Simon Rex). They discover a crop circle. When it's shown from above the circles make up an arrow with a sign pointing to the farm that reads "ATTACK HERE".
In Washington D.C., Cindy Campbell, an anchorwoman, goes to pick up her nephew Cody (Drew Mikuska) at school, who according to Cindy's friend and Cody's teacher Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall) has been having visions. George Logan arrives and invites Cindy and Brenda to a rap-off.
Cindy goes to Brenda's house that night and Brenda tells her that she watched the killer tape and needs protection. Tabitha the ghost comes out of Brenda's TV, knocks Brenda over and strangles her. Cindy finds her body.
At Brenda's funeral, Cindy gets the killer tape which Brenda watched and takes it home with her. George and Mahalik arrive and are told that they are at a wake. They mistake this for the fact that Brenda is not dead, and try to revive her.
Meanwhile, Cindy watches the tape and gets a call from Tabitha who tells her she will die in seven days. She calls George, CJ and Mahalik, and they rush to her apartment. CJ comments his Aunt Shaneequa is an oracle and she could help Cindy. She goes to see her and leaves George to look after Cody. Aunt Shaneequa (Queen Latifah) and her husband Orpheus (Eddie Griffin) agree to help and Cindy gives them a copy of the killer tape. After watching a segment of it Aunt Shaneequa discovers a backmasked picture of a lighthouse and she tells Cindy to find it.When Cindy returns home, Cody has just watched the tape.
At work, Cindy looks through various pictures of lighthouses and finds the one in the tape, but she leaves the tape behind and her boss grabs it. Cindy arrives at the lighthouse where she meets The Architect (George Carlin) who tells her the real story of Tabitha and how the killer tape got out in the world, The Architect had rented Pootie Tang but accidentally returned the killer tape in Pootie Tang's box. He also says that Tabitha was their evil daughter and that his wife drowned her in the family's farm well while he thought a time-out would have worked. Meanwhile in the White House, President Baxter Harris (Leslie Nielsen) and his main agent, Agent Johnson (Ja Rule) beging worrying about the Alien Invasion warnings that Cindy Campbell had given in the news show and after destroying a Mother Teresa award ceremony believing that a lot of people there were Aliens in disguise, Johnson and President Harris go to look for Cindy in the Logan Farm.
Upon arriving home again, Cindy discovers that her news show has broadcasted the killer in the airwaves for hours and now several people are in danger, she thinks things out and decidees to go to the Logan Farm where she knows the aliens will land. In the Logan Farm, Tom has everybody in the house go into the basement for refuge while he, George and Mahalik go outside to fight off the aliens. Suddenly, two aliens sneak up behind Mahalik, Tom and George when Secret Serviceman Jones and President Baxter Harris arrive and accidentally run them over. Baxter tells them he came looking for Cindy since he claims that she may hold the key in defeating the aliens. Baxter then notices the UFOs mistaking them as the Air Force in those "new round planes." Just as the UFOs get closer, CJ arrives with an army of rappers and among them are Master P, RZA, Raekwon, Method Man, Redman, Macy Gray and U-God. However, they have an argument and shoot each other dead.
After that, the aliens strangle Tom, George, Mahalik, CJ, Baxter, and Secret Serviceman Jones, Mahalik breaks free and knocks the head off of one of the aliens claiming "without their heads, they're powerless". The aliens' leader (voiced by Tom Kenny who also voiced the other aliens present) talks and reveals they came to earth because they need to kill Tabitha since they watched the killer tape, believing it to be Pootie Tang. When Mahalik asks why they were choking them, the aliens explain that strangulation is how they say hello. When George asks how they say goodbye, an alien kicks him in the genitals. Showing more of their oddity, one of the aliens shows them that they pee through their pointer finger which disgusts Tom at the moment that one of the aliens put his pointer in his mouth. President Baxter Harris quotes that the humans and aliens aren't that different after all and he pees through his pointer finger.
In the basement, Cindy recognizes a shot from the killer tape and then makes a hole in the wood and she finds the well where Tabitha drowned; suddenly Tabitha appears behind her. George goes to look for Cindy and then finds Tabitha attacking her, after a short battle Tabitha pretends the curse is broken so she can attack them (Cindy: "So you won't be evil anymore?" Tabitha: "Nah, I'm just screwing with ya!") but as she prepares to attack, President Harris opens the door behind Tabitha and knocks her into the well. (President, not realizing what he just did: "I just wanted you to know, we're all counting on you".) George seals the well and the curse is over. George and Cindy get married with everybody, including the aliens and Aunt Shaneequa, in the ceremony. As George and Cindy drive away they accidentally leave Cody behind. When they back up the car they are about to hit Cody but stop just in time; however, a car coming from another direction hits Cody and throws him through the air as the movie ends and the credits roll.

The sequel to Scary Movie begins with a parody of The Exorcist, in which Megan Voorhees (Natasha Lyonne), is possessed and two priests, Father McFeely (James Woods) and Father Harris (Andy Richter), must drive the demon out. The exorcism doesn't go as planned, and a chain of The Exorcist-like vomiting occurs. Megan insults McFeely's mother and he shoots her in the head.
One year later, Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans) and Shorty Meeks (Marlon Wayans) are at college, trying to live new lives, after the events in the previous movie. (Although all of them died in Scary Movie, in a deleted scene, Brenda says her death was a near death experience, and Cindy was never officially declared dead.) Cindy and Brenda get tagged by a dorky girl, Alex Monday (Tori Spelling); Ray, who is still confused by his sexuality, has two new friends, Tommy (James DeBello) and Buddy (Christopher Masterson); while Shorty is still the same stoner he was in the last movie.
The story begins when a college teacher, Professor Oldman (Tim Curry) and his wheelchair-bound assistant Dwight (David Cross) plan to study the paranormal activity at Hell House, with the clueless teens as bait and for Oldman to get action with the college girls. Newcomer Theo (Kathleen Robertson) also becomes part of the study group.
When Cindy arrives at the Hell House, she meets a talking Amazon parrot who is vulgar and slanderous, and the caretaker, Hanson (Chris Elliott), who has great people skills and a genetically malformed little hand. After some weird incidents on that night (Cindy being beaten up by a cat, a toy clown attacking Ray after he had sex with Brenda, Shorty getting attacked and smoked by a weed-monster, and Alex having sex with a ghost and it "humps" her. The teens finally learn about the professor's plan and try to escape the mansion.
The professor gets killed by a female ghost with disfigured features as the ghost of Hell House's owner, Hugo Kane, seals all exits of the manor to prevent the surviving occupants from escaping. Realizing that killing the ghost is the only way out, the teens are equipped with several technological devices by Dwight that serve to harass and injure the spectral enemy. They are pursued all throughout the mansion. Cindy is chased by an undead skeleton and Brenda rips his bones. Shorty meets the ghost who killed the professor but puts a paper bag on her face and has sex with her. Hanson gets possessed, and Cindy, Brenda and Theo parody Charlie's Angels to get him, but end up beaten up. Eventually, they use Cindy as bait to lure the Kane ghost to a device that ultimately destroys him.
Two months later, taking care of the parrot though he despises her for talking too much, Cindy and Buddy are in a relationship and go out on a walk until ......................

SCARY MOVIE 1

Scary Movie is a 2000 film directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, as part of Wayans Bros. Entertainment. It is an American dark comedy which parodies the horror, slasher, and mystery genres. Several mid- and late-1990s movies are spoofed, including the more subtle horror film parody series Scream trilogy, The Sixth Sense, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Usual Suspects, The Matrix, and The Blair Witch Project, while it also parodies many of the classic horror films, most notably Halloween.

Plot
A young teenage girl named Drew Decker (Carmen Electra) is alone in her council house when she receives a phone call. The caller wants to know her better, but she doesn't give in. The caller reveals he is looking at her. Scared, she grabs a baseball bat and answers the front door (thinking it is the prank caller) and attacks the trick-or-treaters. As soon as Drew went inside the house, the caller appears, revealing himself as the murderer Ghostface. Ghostface chases her onto the patio of the house, where he rips her clothes off, which leaves her only clothed with white bra and thong. She runs into the sprinklers in her bikini, the killer catches up with her and stabs her in the breast and pulls out an implant. She went alongside the road and sights her father, only to be run over by him. She is then murdered.
Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) is on her computer when her boyfriend Bobby Prinze (Jon Abrahams) appears in the window. Bobby is upset because his relationship with Cindy "isn't going anywhere" (i.e., they have not slept together). Even though he expresses this to her, she refuses his intentions and he left Cindy's house.
The next day in school, Cindy meets with Bobby and the rest of her friends, Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), Greg Phillipe (Lochlyn Munro), Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans), and Buffy Gilmore (Shannon Elizabeth). At the school, news teams are trying to interview the police and students who knew the girl who was murdered the night before (her name is identified as Drew Decker). The most prominent among the reporters is Gail Hailstorm (Cheri Oteri), author of the recently released book You're Dead, I'm Rich. Cindy points out to the others that Drew's murder happened exactly one year after they accidentally killed a man during a night of drunk driving, and dumped his body off a pier. Greg swears the group to a pact that they will never reveal what happened that night, and becomes physically abusive to Cindy when she exhibits reluctance.
One class, Cindy receives a note from someone telling her that he knew about the incident with the man they killed. The first appearance of Ghostface to Cindy.
After football practice, Ray and Greg are in the locker room with a bunch of other guys, and when Ray and everyone else leaves Greg for the showers ("Don't let Uncle Ray catch you!"), the latter goes off to the punchbag. After he finishes and take a shower, he finds a note tucked in the door of his locker showing a picture of his small penis. Enraged, he goes to Cindy and the others and tells them about the note, and is ridiculed for it.
Buffy, competing in a beauty pageant, does a dramatic acting piece during the talent portion. During her reading, Greg is murdered by the killer in the balcony. Seeing this, Buffy attempts to warn everyone, but her desperate pleas are taken by the audience and judges as an exceptional acting performance and Buffy stops caring about Greg when she won.
That night, Cindy is attacked by the killer, but she calls the cops and the killer escapes. Bobby shows up with the same gloves and knife as the killer, and is arrested. Cindy goes to stay with Buffy that night but receives a call from the real killer, which results in Bobby's release. Bobby and Cindy later bump into each other at school, but their reconciliation is awkward, stemming in part from Cindy not getting over Ginger Spice leaving the Spice Girls.
The killer confronts Buffy in the girls' locker rooms. Making a sarcastic, metafictional observation about horror movies clichés, Buffy mocks the killer, even as he stabs her, and continues to do so even after he decapitates her. In order to get her to really shut up, he throws her head in the lost and found bucket.
Ray and Brenda go to the movies to watch Shakespeare in Love. Ray, while in a bathroom stall, peeps in on another occupant, and is impaled through the head with a penis. The killer then attempts to kill Brenda in the auditorium, but because of her discourteous behavior, the other patrons kill her before he has a chance.
During a party at her house, Cindy has sex with Bobby. At the same time, the killer shows up at Shorty's house to kill him and his friends, but gets high on marijuana with them instead. When they are rapping with each other, the killer raps and kills everyone at the same time except for Shorty, who was beside him all the time. Shorty congratulates the killer for the rap.
At Cindy's house, the killer shows up and apparently stabs Bobby. As Cindy attempts to attend to Bobby's wound, Bobby shoots Shorty in the left lung, causing marijuana smoke to exude. He reveals that the blood from his "wound" is ketchup, as he was never stabbed at all. Ray appears, very much alive, and reveals that he and Bobby are copying the serial killer. When Cindy asks for a motive, Bobby points out that they don't need one, because horror movies like Scream do not boast logically coherent elements like plot or motive. Bobby also sarcastically suggests that it was lack of sex that drove him to do this, and reveals that he and Ray are gay lovers who will start a new life once they kill Cindy, a crime they will get away with because they are merely copycatting a real serial killer who actually exists. To conceal their guilt, they decide to stab one another in order so that the authorities will believe them to be victims of the real killer. As Ray stabs Bobby, Cindy yells "You guys are psychos! You've seen one too many TV shows!", only to have Ray respond angrily "Watching television shows doesn't create psycho killers - canceling TV shows does! The Wayans Brothers was a good show - and we didn't even get a final episode!" (thus breaking character, since the actor playing Ray is Shawn Wayans). However, the real killer appears shortly afterwards, stabbing Ray to death.
The killer then attacks Cindy, but after she repels him, he escapes. The police show up and take Cindy to the police station, where they find out that Buffy's brother Doofy (Dave Sheridan) was actually faking his mental retardation and is the real killer, and is in cahoots with Gail Hailstorm. After Doofy and Gail escape, the sheriff and Cindy find Doofy's disguise in the street and as Cindy cries out in the street over this discovery, she is run over by a passing car.
During the end credits, two scenes are shown:
~Shorty talking to the audience about his plans to rob a supermarket.
~Doofy breaking up with his vacuum and making out with it.

The Prestige(2007)

“Every great magic trick consists of three acts,” we’re told in The Prestige. “The first act is called The Pledge; The magician shows you something ordinary, but of course it probably isn't. The second act is called The Turn; The magician makes the ordinary something do something extraordinary. Now, if you're looking for the secret you won't find it, that's why there's a third act called The Prestige; this is the part with the twists and turns, where lives hang in the balance, and you see something shocking you've never seen before.”
Unfortunately, it’s during the final act that The Prestige fails to deliver, the finale dropping the curtain on a promising story with an unsatisfactory flourish. For all it’s concern with human obsession and director Christopher Nolan’s track record presenting it in films like Memento and Batman Begins, the film lacks a genuine soul and its complex intrigues, three-part timeline and grindingly mechanical plot twists ultimately untwist in vain.
Even so, there’s much to enjoy in this tale of vengeance between rival London illusionists at the end of the 19th Century. In the earliest timeline, we meet Rupert Angier (Hugh Jackman), Alfred Borden (Christian Bale), trick inventor Cutter (Michael Caine) and Rupert’s wife, Julia (Piper Perabo), assistants to a journeyman magician (played by real-life master Ricky Jay). When a trick goes wrong, possibly due to Alfred’s negligence (though the film contrives uncertainty about this), Julia is killed and Angier swears revenge on Alfred. The two pursue their careers and blood feud across the city, aristocratic Angier the superior showman, rough and ready Alfred the better magician, each inflicting physical harm on the other through diabolical infiltrations of the other’s act. Caught between the pair are Cutter and Olivia (Scarlett Johansson), a magician’s assistant drawn to both men, even when, in Alfred’s case, he’s married to Sarah (Rebecca Hall).
In the second timeline, a science-fiction element arrives with the introduction of real-life scientist Nikol Tesla (David Bowie), as Angier tracks him to Colorado Springs to ask for his help building an incredible trick. Finally, the narrative moves to Alfred’s involvement in Angier’s death, when he is tried, convicted and sentenced to hang. Inbetween, the film flits through periods as each magician uncovers revelations and deceptions in the other’s diary.
For all its many twists and misdirections, The Prestige is deceptively easy to watch, though in retrospect the manipulations feel calculated at the expense of character depth and the biggest revelation arrives as no surprise at all. Given his previous track record on celluloid, David Bowie, is, astonishingly, the best thing in it, yet the plot goes somewhat awry with his appearance. Caine is again solid as the venerable mentor attempting to do the right thing, as is Johansson, though she’s hardly stretching herself in these endless lust interest roles. Rather more compelling is Hall’s anguished portrayal of a wife losing her husband to obsession.
As the leads, Jackman and Bale bring star quality. The latter’s working class accent initially jars, but settles down with familiarity. Neither Angier or Arthur is an easy man to like, a failing of the film, but the actors do their best and make the pair’s extreme focus believable.
The Prestige looks great and there’s too much class involved for it to be anything but entertaining. Even so, a suspicion that Nolan overstretched and overdeveloped his story is inescapable. You leave wondering about the great film this could have been.

10 Things I Hate About You

"What say you to a piece of beef and mustard?" That Shakespeare, eh? He knew how to cut to the chase. Sadly, this line (along with many others) does not survive into a lively teen adaptation of The Taming Of The Shrew, though essence and theme remain intact.
Canny dad Walter Stratford (Larry Miller, on top form) has banned youngest daughter - tempting tease Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) - from having a boyfriend until her elder sibling - bitter, bitchy Katarina (Julia Stiles) - gets one too, an event about as likely as the Infernal Regions suffering a chilly spell.
And so a questionable plan is hatched: Bianca's would-be beau Cameron James (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) will bribe Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to take Kat on at least one date, freeing Bianca for romance too.
There's a problem, though. Even if Kat's hissy, spiky temperament were not geared to repel any and every approach, Patrick is a moody loner with a mysterious, shrouded past - which may or may not have involved burning down his previous school - and has no interest whatsoever in a girl this icy, acid-tongued, but-clearly-quite-attractive-nevertheless.
So Cameron somehow convinces loaded school smarm Joey Donner (Andrew Keegan) to front some cash in the form of a bet, eventually putting up a high enough stake to pique Patrick's interest, and the plan seems set. Except that unknown to Cameron, Bianca harbours desires for Joey, so even if the ruse succeeds, things may not work exactly as he hopes.
More often than not, this sort of film is plagued with a painful mediocrity of the teen telly series order, and early on, warning bells are clanging loud and clear with colourful, high school hallways and clear-skinned, cliche-spouting kids.
But then Larry Miller enters the frame with a distinctly left-of-centre support role which arrests your attention and serves notice that some surprises will be in store. And so it proves.
Gordon-Levitt and Oleynik are made to toe a standard line admittedly, but there's real spark in the performances of Ledger and Stiles, who seem desperate to instil some bite and sideways humour, and are rewarded for their efforts when the script eventually catches up.
Patrick's crooning of Can't Take My Eyes Off You to Kat and an entire sports field of gob-smacked footballers, cheerleaders and spectators is a master-stroke of cringe-worthy potential turned on its head.
And yes, as this suggests, it's cheesy in places, but with a good few laughs (largely grabbed by Miller and no-nonsense English teacher Daryl Mitchell) and the script's spiteful slant, there's an agreeably wicked tang to this uplifting, undemanding multiplex fluff.

Utterly Brilliant. What is CLOVERFIELD?For the past year or so, that’s been the question that everyone has been asking. Well… they also wanted to know: What was that trailer? What’s the name of this movie? Who are those actors? What is a SLUSHO? What does any of this mean?Having seen the film, I can tell you – I have completely forgotten the marketing. I no longer care why the film is titled CLOVERFIELD, I don’t think it has a secret meaning – other than the fact that the movie that the marketing would lead you to, if it will… will knock your cinema-going mind into the floor of the theater.CLOVERFIELD is a bold genre-reinvention unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. The basic premise that we know is there. The film is found footage, not an assembled film. The footage is recovered in Central Park. From trailers and ads you know that it probably starts at a party, something happens, and we think there is a giant monster. You’re pretty sure there’s a giant monster attacking New York City… specifically Manhattan. The movie is brilliant. It’s what we were told it was going to be. An intimate perspective on an impossibly grand scale human disaster beyond most human levels of comprehension. What is the monster? How do you describe something that doesn’t look like anything you’ve ever seen before? It’s not an upright walking whale. It doesn’t look like any iteration of GODZILLA that we’ve ever seen. It is enormous. And even though I’ve seen it… I am hard-pressed to come up with a comparative creation. You know that big thing in THE MIST? It isn’t that. Is the creature a biped? I’m not sure, I think it might’ve been a four-legged beastie… it has a tail, it has teeth and freaky eyes like that horse that died in ANIMAL HOUSE. It’s kinda of a grayish-yellowish-off-white looking thing. But more important than the creature is what this thing does. He basically goes bug-nuts.I guarantee you that as this movie takes place… all the shit that you’ve seen in Giant monster movies is happening. Somewhere a general is screaming about nuking New York…. Somewhere is a politician screaming that you can’t nuke New York. Another General wants to know why our weapons are not affecting this thing. A PRESIDENT wants to know where it came from – and several thousand journalist are trying to figure all that out too.But this film isn’t about the scientist, the generals, the Presidents, the mayors or any of the big people. This time, the film is from the perspective of those people that live in those buildings that the monster is breaking through. This is about the people running in the street that scream, “GODZILLA!!!” and run. This is about trying to survive that insanity. Not just that, but to try and save one life.Like SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, but instead of Nazis it’s a giant monster. This is a handheld camera movie – knowing this and knowing not to sit too close is probably a good thing… but having said that… you can’t sit far enough from the screen to feel safe. As many of you people know, I am in a wheelchair – and while watching movies, I have my brakes on. There was one moment, so unexpected and so intense that I went 3 ft back. There’s no score, there’s no rules, there feels like there’s no script and no movie. It feels found, but it is so huge that you can’t ever really believe that… but handheld film just has never had a story of something this fantastical or huge happen. The movie is a landmark genre film. A true milestone in film.It is all at once art, commercial and grotesquely gleefully gargantuan. This frankly launches two giant film careers at once. As of this second, I will see and eagerly anticipate every film that J.J. Abrams produces. This sort of stepping back from a genre convention and reinvention is EXACTLY what needs to be done. It isn’t simply going, “Oh, I can make a better Godzilla movie,” but the audacity of saying I’m going to tell that story from one of the most loathed film approaches – the found footage – and simply make the most fucking amazing found tape ever. It won’t just be what it is, but the characters and the story and the emotion and the scope and the journey that the tape takes us on. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Then there’s Matt Reeves, I don’t know this guy. But I’ll tell you what. You’re gonna mark his name after this. He just came out with a film about as SUNDANCE as you could imagine. This is like an INDIE film – that you’d dream Spielberg would make. Remember the beard’s WAR OF THE WORLDS? Now just imagine that, but with the disarming nature of handheld photography. Where if the camera got dropped and suddenly you’re looking the other way… you don’t see the seams. There’s no backlot, this isn’t two blocks at a time… it’s Manhattan being torn to fuck and they’re just smack dab in midtown and midtown has giant lice monsters and some monstrously huge creature… and then there’s the military… and they are on target, and buildings get hit, shit is going everywhere – and the man directing this apocalypse is Matt Reeves and the planning to just deliver what this spectacle is – is daunting. But sir, BRAVO! Folks – CLOVERFIELD is worth the obsession, worth the months I’ve had to put up with fans wondering what the hell it was – worth having to deal with reporters asking me what it was – and I didn’t know either. This is a towering movie. A complete reinvention of the disaster movie, the giant monster movie and even the love story. I absolutely love this film and the only thought I had when it was over was how I wanted to watch it 5 more times today.I want to see the details, I want to watch this film once I’m so familiar with it that I can appreciate the complexity of the frames and the shots. To try to pull the film apart – but I don’t think you’ll be able to. It is just that fucking good! And the flaming hobos... flaming hobos, but not with shotguns!Good Bad Robot, Good Bad Robot!!!-->

Balls Of Fury

Type : Movie

Resolution :720 x 384

Genre : Action/Comedy/Crime/

File Size : 1.4GB

Movie Runtime : 01:30

Director: Robert Ben Garant
Writers : Robert Ben Garant,Thomas Lennon

Cast : Christopher Walken, Dan Fogler, George Lopez, Maggie Q, James Hong

In the unsanctioned, underground, and unhinged world of extreme Ping-Pong, the competition is brutal and the stakes are deadly. Now, this outrageous new comedy serves up this secret world for the first time on-screen. Down-and-out former professional Ping-Pong phenom Randy Daytona (Dan Fogler) is sucked into this maelstrom when FBI Agent Rodriguez (George Lopez) recruits him for a secret mission. Randy is determined to bounce back and recapture his former glory, and to smoke out his father's (Robert Patrick) killer - one of the FBI's Most Wanted, arch-fiend Feng (Christopher Walken).

But, after two decades out of the game, Randy can't turn his life around and avenge his father's murder without a team of his own. He calls upon the spiritual guidance of blind Ping-Pong sage and restaurateur Wong (James Hong), and the training expertise of Master Wong's wildly sexy niece Maggie (Maggie Q), both of whom also have a dark history with Feng.

All roads lead to Feng's mysterious jungle compound and the most unique Ping-Pong tournaments ever staged. There, Randy faces such formidable players as his long-ago Olympics opponent, the still-vicious Karl Wolfschtagg (Thomas Lennon). Can Randy keep his eye on the ball? Will he achieve the redemption he craves while wielding a paddle? Is his backhand strong enough to triumph over rampant wickedness?

Meet The Spartans

TiTLE : Meet The Spartans

YEAR : 2008
GENRE : Comedy/Spoof

RUNTIME : 1:05:10

LANGUAGE : English

SUBS : NONEViDEO

FORMAT : AVI

Hollywood has churned out a slew of spoofs within the last year alone, including Epic Movie, Balls of Fury, The Comebacks, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Now, less than a month into 2008, we have Meet the Spartans -- a spoof of a movie, 300, that only opened last March.

One wonders if studios aren't already developing spoofs of their forthcoming summer movies for release the following winter.Meet the Spartans tells the same story as 300, so much so that it dances perilously close to crossing the fine line between parody and plagiarism. True, 300 recounts a historical event, but as uniquely envisioned by Frank Miller in comic book form and then Zack Snyder on film. As much as Walk Hard owed a lot to Walk the Line, it never lifted scenes and shots directly the way that Spartans does to 300.

Like 300, Meet the Spartans chronicles the youth and training of Spartan king Leonidas (Sean Maguire), his defense of his nation against the invading Persian army of Xerxes (Borat's Ken Davitian), the efforts by Leonidas' wife (called Queen Margo here, and played by Carmen Electra) to help rally political will for her husband's cause, and the Spartans' bold last stand. Of course, it's all turned on its head by writers-directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (the duo behind Epic Movie and Scary Movie). For starters, this Leonidas only has 13 warriors rather than 300.

Meet the Spartans is chock full of "cameos" by movie characters and pop culture icons, such as Shrek, Paris Hilton, Ghost Rider, the judges of American Idol, and Britney Spears. (Even Ain't It Cool News honcho Harry Knowles gets a jab.)

Besides 300, there are plenty of scenes satirizing other big Hollywood films, such as Casino Royale, Stomp the Yard, and Spider-Man 3. Reality shows and game shows are also parodied. Seeing as how Spartans is their seventh produced spoof, one wonders what stone is left to be turned by Friedberg and Seltzer.

Goal 1

Directed by Danny Cannon; written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, based on a story by Adrian Butchart; director of photography, Michael Barrett; edited by Chris Dickens; music by Graeme Revell; production designer, Laurence Dorman; produced by Mike Jefferies, Matt Barrelle and Mark Huffam; released by Touchstone Pictures.

Running time: 135 minutes.

WITH: Kuno Becker (Santiago Munez), Stephen Dillane (Glen Foy), Anna Friel (Roz Harmison), Marcel Iures (Erik Dornhelm), Tony Plana (Hernan Munez), Alessandro Nivola (Gavin Harris) and Alan Shearer (Himself).

Attempting an unfortunate blend of Newcastle grit and Hollywood uplift, "Goal! The Dream Begins" is the improbable story of Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker), a young Mexican immigrant and amateur soccer star living in Los Angeles. Against the wishes of his conservative father (Tony Plana), who urges a secure future in the lawn-care business, Santiago follows the advice of a talent scout (Stephen Dillane) and heads to England for a tryout with Newcastle United.
Battling asthma attacks, hostile players and the ghastly Tyneside weather, Santiago gains a one-month trial; and before you can yell "Foul!" he's playing alongside the captain, Alan Shearer, and teaching his teammates the importance of clean living and hard work. One can only imagine their gratitude.
"Goal! The Dream Begins" is the kickoff to a trilogy of movies hoping to do for soccer what Kevin Costner has done for baseball. But though Mr. Becker's depressingly bland performance is countered by excellent work from both Alessandro Nivola as the team's resident playboy and the Romanian actor Marcel Iures as its paternalistic manager, the movie continually strains credulity.
As the clichés mount, Danny Cannon directs as if he's the one on trial, teasing tension out of every pass and dribble. Most irritating of all is his determination to paint British soccer as a gentleman's game, a notion United's real fans would no doubt treat with the scorn it deserves.

Goal II

Plot

Continuiing the story of Santiago Munez (Becker), who after his time with Newcastle United, gets the break of a lifetime with an offer to play for Real Madrid. But the pressure to perform on the world stage brings a whole new set of problems.
Review
Despite the fact that roughly four people saw the first instalment, the second in this football trilogy arrives with boots polished and hair extravagantly highlighted, ready for a comeback. Last we saw Santiago (Kuno Becker), he was scoring the winning goal to put Newcastle through to the Champions League.
Now he’s, yes, living the dream, absconding to play for Real Madrid and coping with vast sums of money, buxom hangers-on and an inevitably strained relationship with his homely girlfriend (Anna Friel). The outcome is more predictable than that of an England-Brazil clash, but the story’s told and played with warmth.
Verdict

Filmically it's more of a pleasantly diverting kick about in the park than a 90th minute back-of-the-net at the world cup final

The hapless quartet visits a chocolate factory, where they stumble into an enchanted wardrobe that transports them to the land of Gnarnia (with a “G”). There they meet a flamboyant pirate captain and earnest students of wizardry - and join forces with, among others, a wise-but-horny lion to defeat the evil White Bitch of Gnarnia

DARK KNIGHT REVIEW
Starring: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart

Directed by: Christopher Nolan
Heads up: a thunderbolt is about to rip into the blanket of bland we call summer movies. The Dark Knight, director Christopher Nolan's absolute stunner of a follow-up to 2005's Batman Begins, is a potent provocation decked out as a comic-book movie. Feverish action? Check. Dazzling spectacle? Check. Devilish fun? Check. But Nolan is just warming up. There's something raw and elemental at work in this artfully imagined universe. Striking out from his Batman origin story, Nolan cuts through to a deeper dimension. Huh? Wha? How can a conflicted guy in a bat suit and a villain with a cracked, painted-on clown smile speak to the essentials of the human condition? Just hang on for a shock to the system. The Dark Knight creates a place where good and evil — expected to do battle — decide instead to get it on and dance. "I don't want to kill you," Heath Ledger's psycho Joker tells Christian Bale's stalwart Batman. "You complete me." Don't buy the tease. He means it.
The trouble is that Batman, a.k.a. playboy Bruce Wayne, has had it up to here with being the white knight. He's pissed that the public sees him as a vigilante. He'll leave the hero stuff to district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and stop the DA from moving in on Rachel Dawes (feisty Maggie Gyllenhaal, in for sweetie Katie Holmes), the lady love who is Batman's only hope for a normal life.
Everything gleams like sin in Gotham City (cinematographer Wally Pfister shot on location in Chicago, bringing a gritty reality to a cartoon fantasy). And the bad guys seem jazzed by their evildoing. Take the Joker, who treats a stunningly staged bank robbery like his private video game with accomplices in Joker masks, blood spurting and only one winner. Nolan shot this sequence, and three others, for the IMAX screen and with a finesse for choreographing action that rivals Michael Mann's Heat.

Slumdog Millionaire(2008)

Starring: Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan...

Story Adaptation/ Script: Simon Beaufoy

Director: Danny Boyle

Rating: 9.5/10

Verdict: JAI HO!

Based on the novel by Vikas Swarup Q & A, there are slight changes in the movie version from the novel version. Maybe Danny Boyle didnt find it necessary nor did I feel anything extra was needed. The movie is incredible and mind blowingly shot. Not to mention the sound mixing and the placement and A.R. Rahman's score at the right time. The story shot and based in India is about the rags to riches rise of a boy from the slums and his life encounters that help him get to the last question of the popular Indian version of the game show WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?

Jamal Malik a boy from the slums of Dharavi, Mumbai has won 10 million and is one question away from winning 20 million but he is arrested and interrogated by the police and accused of cheating in the game show after suspicion as to how a boy from the slums knows the answers to the questions. At the heart of the movie its a love story.

Kudos to Danny Boyle! The style of direction notably the scenes where the slum kids are chased by the cops on a runway is absolutely breath-taking. You can literally judge the difference how a Bollywood director would have shot the same sequence and how Danny Boyle has done it. Also credit to Simon Beaufoy for adapting the novel story onto the screen with so much precision. He has written it in tight strings. The editing is so slick yet keeping it simple for viewer to understand and yet the film is bollywoodish.

No wonder why the film bagged 10 OSCAR Nominations and also swept the 4 awards in Golden Globes. A.R. Rahman's soundtrack is brilliant. Look out for O Saya, Jai Ho which have bagged Oscar Nominations. Other tracks include Paper Planes by M.I.A.

This translates into a faster internet connection, faster browsing and email, faster downloads, faster online gaming, improved Skype connection. The speed of your network connection doesn’t just depend on the speed of your hardware. Windows is an operating system that is designed to work on a variety of different hardware and network setups. Because of the abstract nature of the operating system, it cannot be optimized for user-specific hardware setups.Depending on the type of network connection you have, you might be able to tweak your connection so that the speed of your Internet, as well as your local area network, will be faster. By changing the System Registry and optimizing the TCP/IP parameters, SpeedConnect can fine-tune the values to take advantage of more reliable, faster Internet connections.

Valkyrie(2008)

Tom Cruise's latest flick is a thriller.A movie from which you get what you would expect from the superstar unlike all the other movies which are more hyped but no substance.

Another that might interest you is that it is based on a true story, one which was an attempt to assasinate The Fuhrer(Hitler).
